What is a Nurse Practitioner?
As we launch Dala Health, we want to share a bit about who we are and how we practice. You might be wondering: What exactly is a nurse practitioner (NP), and how do they fit into my healthcare team?
A nurse practitioner is a clinician with advanced clinical training and graduate-level education (either a Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing). Because NPs are rooted in nursing, our philosophy of care blends rigorous scientific medicine with a holistic, patient-centered approach. We don't just treat symptoms; we look at the whole person, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and comprehensive care management.
Our Clinical Capabilities
NPs are fully qualified to manage your healthcare needs. We are trained to:
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (such as lab work and X-rays).
- Prescribe medications and other treatments.
- Provide counseling and education on healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention.
