DalaHealth is a medical practice in Westminster, at 11031 Sheridan Blvd., Suite 200. Who you'll see

Every patient sees Maggie Smith, MSN, FNP-C, a board-certified family nurse practitioner with independent prescriptive authority in Colorado. She does the evaluation, orders and reads your labs, prescribes when it's appropriate, and sees you at every follow-up. You won't be passed to a different clinician each visit. Read more about Maggie's background.

How medical weight loss works here

  1. Evaluation. Maggie goes through your health history, current medications and what you've already tried, and looks for anything that makes weight harder to lose, such as thyroid problems, poor sleep or a medication side effect.
  2. Labs. She orders the tests your history calls for, usually a metabolic panel, lipids, A1c and thyroid function, and walks you through the results.
  3. A plan. That may include a prescription, a change to a current medication, or no medication at all, along with nutrition guidance built around the food you actually eat.
  4. Follow-up. Regular visits to adjust doses, manage side effects and repeat labs, with secure messaging in between.

GLP-1 medications, when they're appropriate

Semaglutide (Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Zepbound) are once-weekly injections approved for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or prediabetes. They aren't prescribed during pregnancy, or to anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2.

Maggie screens for those before prescribing, starts at a low dose and raises it gradually, because nausea and other stomach side effects are common in the first weeks. A prescription is never decided in advance: it follows from your evaluation and labs.

In person in Westminster, or by video

Some patients like to sit down with their clinician; others would rather not take time off work. Both work here. You can come to the Sheridan Blvd. office, do every visit by video from home, or mix the two. Labs are drawn at a lab near you, and prescriptions go to the pharmacy you choose.

Patients we see from around Westminster

The office sees patients from across Westminster (80020, 80021, 80030, 80031 and 80234) and from nearby Arvada (80003 and 80005), Broomfield, Federal Heights, Thornton and Northglenn. If you live farther out, telehealth visits cover anywhere in Colorado.
